PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a system for automatically displaying relevant article information with respect to an electronic article selected by a user without embedding a category keyword for retrieval or link information to relevant articles in the electronic article itself. SOLUTION: Automatic display of the relevant article information is made to be possible by extracting character string data, such as the sentences, heading, and captions of a photograph and a moving picture of the electronic article selected by the user, sending the extracted character sting data to a retrieval server having a retrieval database part being an index for electronic article retrieval, extracting a preregistered category keyword from the sent character string data in the retrieval service side and displaying to the user results obtained by performing keyword retrieval from the retrieval database part by using the extracted category keyword.
