<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape recording and reproducing device, in which characteristics in recording and reproducing of a magnetic tape can be improved by exactly positioning the magnetic tape relatively to a magnetic head even when the running direction of the magnetic tape is switched between in forward and backward directions. SOLUTION: First guide rollers 5 and 6 are provided to be oscillated between a first inclination position, where upper flanges 9A and 10A are positioned on the upstream side in the running direction rather than lower flanges 9B and 10B, and a second inclination position, where the upper flanges 9A and 10A are positioned on the downstream side in the running direction rather than the lower flanges 9B and 10B, along with the tangential direction of a magnetic tape 1 loaded over roller parts 5A and 6A. The first guide rollers 5 and 6 are respectively provided with driving means 13 and 14 for oscillating these first guide rollers 5 and 6 between the first and second oscillation positions.</p> |
