PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator which can detect slack silently through an extremely simple structure. SOLUTION: The actuator comprises an electric signal generating means 8 including a wheel gear detecting section 8a for detecting the rotation of a wheel gear 11 rotating through a motor without touching it and generating a first output signal, and an output shaft detecting section 8d for detecting the rotation of an output shaft 6 without touching it and generating a second output signal having a phase difference from the first output signal, and forming a logic for detecting slack when the periods of the first and second output signals match each other due to shift of rotation between the wheel gear 11 and the output shaft 6.
