PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation film having desired elasticity and film thickness plus desired insulation properties, heat resistance and pressure resistance between the slot of a rotor core and a rotor conductor. SOLUTION: The rotor 10 comprises a substantially tubular rotor core 11 formed by laminating magnetic steel plates, a plurality of slots 12,..., 12 directing radial inward on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core 11, rotor conductors 13,..., 13 provided in respective slots 12,..., 12, substantially annular end rings 14 and 14 formed integrally with respective rotor conductors 13,..., 13, and an insulation layer 15 provided between the slots 12 and the rotor conductors 13. The insulation layer 15 is formed by coating the inner circumferential surface of the slots 12 with an insulating paint produced by admixing a paint containing alumina and a solvent (toluene, xylene, butyl alcohol, titanium oxide) with an inorganic substance (talc).
