PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera that attains panning photographing with a simple operation, without the need for a photographer to make entry of a speed and a position. SOLUTION: The position of an object is detected on the basis of a range- finding value, measured by a multi-point range finding section 101 and a speed detection section 103 detects the speed of the object, on the basis of a change in the position of the object. When the object enters a predetermined particular position, a start position arrival detection section 104 issues an automatic tracking start instruction and an exposure start instruction of the object, to make a camera turning device 120 to turn a camera body 100 for automatically tracking the object according to the speed of the object, and to allow an exposure section 108 for exposing a film.
