PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an attenuation device, in which the performance is improved with respect to high-frequency signals, by performing insulation with a few selection sections, without causing increases in the length of a transmission path of signals and complication thereof. SOLUTION: An attenuating apparatus has an input terminal for electrical signals, an output terminal for the electrical signals, at least one attenuator for attenuating the electrical signals, a transmission line for transmitting the electrical signals, a selection section for selecting the attenuator and the transmission line to connect them to the input terminal and the output terminal, a first diode for connecting its cathode side to the transmission line, a second diode for connecting its anode side to the transmission line, and a bias circuit which is connected to the anode side of the first diode and to the cathode side of the second diode, to apply bias to the first and second diodes.
