PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and convenient mail environment in which mail addresses are used differently according to mail by uses, mail is basically sent between attributes, transmitted mail can be corrected, whether the transmitted mail has been read can be confirmed and a receiving side can be controlled. SOLUTION: This mail environment includes user communication terminals 60 and 61 connected to the Internet 50 and servers 10 and 30 connected to the Internet 50 and for communicating with the user communication terminals to transmit and receive mail and also controlling mail information, the servers include virtual mail boxes 11a, 11b and 31a to 31c for exchanging information only between users to each other established by uses and user databases 12 and 32 utilized by the users of the communication terminals, and the user databases include distribution information 13 and 33 for storing mail to be transmitted, index information 14a, 14b and 34a to 34c for extracting the distribution information, virtual mail box setting information 15 and 35 for recording information about the virtual mail boxes and received information 16 and 36 for storing received mail.
