PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent heating of an operational amplifier, by suppressing the through-current flowing through push-pull circuits, constituting an output stage in the operational amplifier, used for a system capable of realizing desired functions by a high slew rate. SOLUTION: The operational amplifier circuit has an amplifier stage 2, including an active element TR11 connected to a negative power supply E via a resistor R7 and an active element TR12, connected to a positive power supply +V via a resistor R8, and a push-pull output circuit 3 for amplifying an output signal from the amplifier stage 2. This operational amplifier is further provided with a through-current lowering circuit 4, consisting of a transistor TR13 whose base is connected to the base of a transistor TR15 constituting the circuit 3, and a transistor TR14 whose base is connected to the base of a transistor TR16 constituting the circuit 3. The current paths of the transistors TR14 and TR13 are connected to the resistors R7 and R8, respectively.
