PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display screen illuminating device for preventing unevenness of illumination from occurring by decreasing direct light emitted toward a liquid crystal display and also improving the brightness by increasing indirect light, and further improving the cooling performance for a pilot lamp. SOLUTION: The display screen illuminating device is provided with the liquid crystal display 13 for displaying image information, pilot lamps 15 which emit light to illuminate the liquid crystal display 13 and arranged projectingly toward the liquid crystal display 13, and illumination caps 16 to be put on the pilot lamps 15, and the illumination caps 16 expose at least a part of the side part of the pilot lamps 15.
