PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect two different networks as one network, without making MAC addresses useless. SOLUTION: An address generator 15 generates a pseudo MAC address corresponding to a node ID stored in a source ID field 142 and an offset stored in a destination offset field 143 and stores the address on an IEEE1394-Ethernet conversion table 62 while the address generator 15 changes e.g. an IP address B of an IEEE1394 terminal 6 stored in a source IP address field 133 from the decimal system to the hexadecimal system and generates a pseudo MAC address B with L-bits set to local ones.
