The control mechanism (10) for a to and fro mechanical traction part (22) comprises a lever (16) articulated at a first end (16a) around a fixed pivot (14) on a carrying plate (12) and provided at its free end (16b) with a handle (18). An output element (44) opposite the lever is connected to the mechanical part. The output element is carried by a movable plate (32) articulated to the lever and to the carrying plate to form an articulated parallelogram. In this way the output element describes a movement with a general direction parallel to the movement of the lever around its pivot axis and in the same direction. An Independent claim is included for an application of the control mechanism.
