PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thyristor starting system, capable of attaining highly effective operation while preventing commutation failure in all operating ranges. SOLUTION: In the thyristor starting system for synchronous machine equipped with a power rectifier 2 for converting an alternating current into direct current, a power inverter 4 which converts direct-current output of the power rectifier into variable frequency AC power and is supplied to a synchronous machine, and a margin-angle controller 20 which inputs the current signal of the power inverter, and output voltage signal and a rotational-speed signal of the synchronous machine and outputs a margin-angle control signal with a commutation overlap angle taken into consideration for a margin-angle set point of the power inverter, there is provided a function generator 22 which inputs a rotational-speed signal and outputs a margin-angle set point of the power inverter corresponding to the rotational-speed signal Ns. |
