Low dose artificial insemination sample in which sperm are sorted according to X and Y chromosomes by flow cytometry incorporating a chemically cordinated sheath fluid

Described are sex-selected sperm sorting with systems that achieve superovulation followed by multiple embryo production with sexed embryos. These systems are combined with other techniques, including techniques for enhanced sheath fluid and other strategies which minimise stress on the sperm cells, and, potentially, a 2.9% sodium citrate sheath solution for bovine species and a hepes bovine gamete media for equine species. Collection systems and techniques for the process are described so that commercial application of sperm samples as well as the resulting animals may be achieved.
