PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-resistance head which is easily manufactured in high yield and obtains a high reproduction output, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: This magneto-resistance head includes a 1st magnetic shield, a 1st electrode terminal having the 1st width arranged on the 1st magnetic shield and a magneto-resistance film having the 2nd width narrower than the 1st width arranged on the 1st electrode terminal. The magneto-resistance head includes further a 2nd electrode terminal having the 3rd width narrower than the 2nd width arranged on the magneto-resistance film and a 2nd magnetic shield arranged on the 2nd electrode terminal. Preferably, the magneto-resistance head includes further a plug electrode to connect the 2nd magnetic shield to the 2nd electrode terminal and an insulating film for protecting a plug side wall covering the circumference of the plug electrode. |
