PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust core which can be restrained from decreasing in permeability even if a strong magnetic field is applied and has a low core loss and new soft magnetic powder used for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A dust core has a composition represented by a following formula, (Fe1-f (Co+Ni)f )100-e-d-c-b-a Me M'd Sic Bb Xa , (wherein, M is at least an element selected from Hf, Ta, Ti, Zr and Nb, M' is at least an element selected out of Sc, V, Cr, Mn, Mo, Pd, W, Pt, Zn, Sn and rare earth elements, X denotes at least an element selected from Cu, N, O, Al, P, S, Ca, Ga, Ge, As, Li, Be, Mg, Se, Sr, Cd, In, Sb, Te and Ba, and f, e, d, c, b and a are each so set as to satisfy following formulas, 0<=f<=30, 0<=e<=30, 0<=d<=20, 0<=c<=30, 1<=b<=30, and 0<=a<=50).
