INFORMATION SYSTEM USING LINEAR INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and inexpensively transmit and receive information by mainly using an existing facility such as an electric lamp line. SOLUTION: A base station 3 outputs local information, area information and entire information to each local point LP by mainly using an existing linear information infrastructure 1 such as an electric lamp line, a telephone line and an optical cable and each local point LP transmits this information through e.g. short distance wireless communication. A party possessing a mobile terminal 2 receptible of the transmission information properly selects or throws away the local information such as event information and road work information and the entire information such as weather forecast information and time information and receives the selected information. When the possessor of the mobile terminal 2 has a fall or is in a bad physical condition such as stomachache, the mobile terminal 2 transmits emergency information, which is immediately sent to the base station via nearly local points LP so as to make contact with the family and a request of dispatching an ambulance or the like.
