PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a LAN interface communication apparatus in which no change is found from the viewpoint of an external device and a LAN control form at the time of switching from one of LAN interface sections to the other. SOLUTION: In the LAN interface communication apparatus 1 having two or more LAN interface sections 13-0 and 13-1 to connect a digital terminal device 3 to a LAN 7, each of the sections 13 has a LAN interface 133 and a PCI(Protocol Control Information) interface 131. The apparatus 1 is provided with an individual reset section 15 for turning each of the sections 13 into a reset state, the same MAC(Media Access Control) address is added to each LAN interface, and the same IDSEL(Identification SEL) is added to each PCI interface to be used as a means for conducting PCI configuration. When one of the sections 13 is in a state that it is released from reset, the section 15 turns the other one into a reset state.
