PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an automatic vending machine capable of performing network communication by using the same basic control function and a communication control means irrespective of presence/absence of expanded functions. SOLUTION: The controller for the automatic vending machine is provided with a basic module that performs basic control of the automatic vending machine 100. The basic module 120 is provided with a basic control part 123 that performs the network communication with a management center 200 and a communication requesting part 124 that outputs a prescribed connection request to a connection interface 121. The basic control part 123 judges a type of external equipment as for the basic module 120 based on the contents of connection response to the connection interface 121 of the connection request.
