The invention relates to a method for managing the utilization of the integrated circuit cards of standard format, in a GSM-type radiotelephony mobile terminal provided with an additional card reader adapted for allowing the prepaid integrated circuit card reading, representing the payment means for the mobile radiotelephony service. Said method may be applied both in case of terminals using TACS (Total Access Communication System) technology, and in case of terminals using GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) technology.
