PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing optical disk capable of effectively excluding a defective disk without drastically degrading the yield. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an optical disk which has at least a light transmission layer 3 and a recording layer 2 and which undergoes recording and/or reproducing of data by irradiating the recording layer 2 with a laser beam through the light transmission layer 3, includes at least an inspection process step of detecting the internal defect included in the light transmission layer 3. In this inspection process step, the critical value in the first direction of the internal defect and the critical value in the second direction different from the first direction are set at different vales. Since the critical values of the internal defect size are respectively discretely regulated from two directions in the manner described above, these critical values are adequately set, thereby, defective disks can be effectively excluded without drastically degrading the yield. |
