PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video/audio reproducing device for reproducing video/ audio recorded on a recording medium that allows a user side to make parental management, even when no parental data are provided to the recording medium. SOLUTION: By user operations a basic volume descriptor on a digital video disk (#32) is acquired and sets a desired data area on the disk to be a parental area (#33 to #36). In this case, an E2 PROM of the device body stores address data at a parental start position as start-resume information and address data at a parental end position as end-resume information by each disk. The video/ audio-reproducing device uses the above resume information items to reproduce the data, while skipping the parental area when the digital video disk is reproduced. |
