TRANSFER GUIDANCE SERVICE PROVIDING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide transfer a guidance service taking the travel time from a current position to a starting station into consideration. SOLUTION: The portable terminal of a user is equipped with a current position detecting means such as a GPS receiver and uses obtained positional information to retrieve transfer guidance information. A Web server providing the transfer guidance service calculates the travel time from the current position of the portable terminal to the starting station by using the positional information and informs the user by what time the user should leave the current position to catch a specified train by taking the calculated travel time into consideration. Consequently, the user can take the target train without being too late for the last train nor killing time.
