PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can photograph objects at a longitudinal position, while a user holds the camera at a normal position. SOLUTION: An imaging lens 2 is loaded to a digital camera body 1 (S1) and a storage section 49 of the imaging lens 2 transmits image circle information to the digital camera body 1 (S2). A light-receiving face size of an image pickup element 24 of the digital camera body and the size of an image circle are compared, on the basis of the image circle information (S3). When the size of the image circle is smaller than the light-receiving face size of the imaging element 24, whether or not a segmentation direction setting SW 9 is closed or not closed is discriminated (S4). When the segmentation direction setting SW 9 is closed, a segmentation direction setting circuit 51 changes the segmentation direction (S5), and segmentation processing to segment an area is conducted, where a prescribed luminous quantity can be obtained in the revised segmentation direction (S6). |
