PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required for charging a main capacitor and stop charging without fail without increase in the battery capacity of a power supply in a charging circuit for the main capacitor for strobe. SOLUTION: A charger is so designed as to intermittently interrupt direct current to the primary winding of a transformer by a switching transistor, to return voltage produced in winding for driving the base of the transistor to the base of the switching transistor through a capacitor, and to rectify alternating current produced in the secondary winding of the transformer to supply charging current. The charger is further so designed that, when a charge control signal is off (in oscillation stop state), the capacitor is not charged. A transistor for amplifying current fed back to the base is removed. The cathode of the diode is connected in parallel with a starting resistance so that the cathode is located on the charge control power supply side. The anode of the diode is connected with the base of the switching transistor. |
