PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print an image area desired by a user on printing paper. SOLUTION: The longitudinal/lateral sizes of a printing frame, denoting a range of an image subjected to print processing and to which position of an image the print frame is set, are decided. A resizing parameter is calculated by the longitudinal/lateral size of the printing frame information, the longitudinal/lateral size of the printing paper, and a print pattern with/without multiple frames. Furthermore, whether or not a low pass filter is applied is discriminated, depending on the degree of a resizing parameter (resize ratio). According to the processing, the low-pass filter is applied when the resize rate is '1'. On the basis of the obtained resize rate, an image compressed in a JPG file is expressed by the JPG and resizing is applied, depending on the resize rate. Then resizing is conducted again, depending on the presence/absence of application of the low-pass filter to complete the resizing to the printing size.
