PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an insulation strap from contracting with respect to an internal conductor by increasing the degree of adhesion of the internal conductor to the insulation strap. SOLUTION: This coaxial cable is provided with the insulation strap 4 spirally wound around the internal conductor 3 as an insulator between the internal conductor 3 and an external conductor 7, and an insulation pipe 5 covering its circumference. An insulation layer 11 of a thin film is so formed over the entire circumferential surface of the internal conductor 3 that the strap 4 is jointed to the circumferential surface of the internal conductor 3 by interposing the insulation layer 11. The insulation layer 11 is desirably formed of the same material as that of the strap 4.
