PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a foreign matter such as lead oxide from sticking to an electron gun before sealing. SOLUTION: A bulb holder and a pan 21 for receiving the foreign matter falling on the electron gun 4 held by an electron gun holder from a bulb 1 held by this bulb holder are arranged between the bulb holder for holding the bulb 1 of a cathode-ray tube and the electron gun holder for holding the electron gun 4. Since the pan 21 is arranged, even if the foreign matter such as lead oxide falls by operation of a neck chuck 14 and setting time vibration of the bulb 1, since the foreign matter is wholly housed and held in the pan 21, the foreign matter can be prevented from being stuck and sealed in the bulb 1 together with the electron gun 4.
