The invention relates to an earthquake-proof building ensuring the protection against seismic movements as well as against other phenomena, natural calamities or accidental shocks. The building comprises a circular base structure (1) consisting of some identical shells (4 and 5) each made up of some circular sectors (4 1 and 5 1) with flanged edges, said shells being juxtaposed to each other along the radii of said structure whose center is positioned on the vertical axis (X-X) of the building, a vertical upper floor structure (2) consisting of some pairs of pillars (9 and 10) arranged to be supported by the circular base structure (1), while the circular roof structure (3) is arranged to be supported by the pillars (9 and 10) of the structure (2), said roof structure (3) comprising some radial beams (15) and some curved elements (17) juxtaposed along the radii of the circular roof structure, the base structure (1) being assembled and compressed circumferencially by some tensioned cables (6 and 19) positioned in a horizontal plane for encircling the base structure (1), on the one hand, and in vertical planes, oriented radially, for encircling the building at the periphery of the structure, passing through the roof structure (3), on the other hand.
