PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quartz oscillator one using especially a metal base whose shock resistance is improved. SOLUTION: In the quartz oscillator, the horizontal portions of L-shaped metal fittings are jointed respectively to four lead wires protruded on a metal base 1, and both the ends of the outer periphery of a quartz piece 3, having extended lead electrodes 6, are connected electrically and mechanically with a pair of facing L-shaped metal fittings to each other; and further, both the ends of the outer periphery of the quartz piece 3, whose foundation is exposed to the external, are connected mechanically with another pair of L-shaped metal fittings. Moreover, in this quartz vibrator, the rotational moment of the quartz piece 3 is reduced, by so constituting the other pair of L-shaped metal fittings as to connect them continuously with each other.
