PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the emission of an intensive optical signal from the cross section of a broken optical fiber cable by stopping the transmission of a multiplexed optical signal when the cable, etc., is broken, to detect the completion of repair of the broken cable when it is completed, and to restart the transmission of the multiplexed optical signal when the repair is confirmed without using unnecessary hardware. SOLUTION: Respective retransponder sections 7 in each of optical wavelength multiplexing transmission devices 2a and 2b monitor whether or not respective wavelength optical signals are supplied via each of optical fiber cables 3a and 3b. The sections 7 judge whether or not the cables 3a and 3b are broken, and whether or not they are restored to control output stop and restart of the output of the multiplexed optical signal. |
