PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of surely forming a margin at the trailing edge of sheet material even in the case of using a sheet material such as a roll paper sheet. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a carrying device for carrying the roll paper sheet (4) to the transfer part (10) of an image carrier (21), a cutter (6) for cutting the roll paper drawn out to desired length, and an exposure device (23) for writing an optical image on the exposure part (35) of the image carrier (21). The device is provided with a sensor (9) provided on a roll paper carrying path (40) side by leaving a distance from the transfer part (10) to the carrying path (40) longer than a distance from the exposure part (35) to the transfer part (10) and detecting the trailing edge of the roll paper cut by the cutter (6), and a control means (28) controlling the exposure of the exposure device (23) based on a detection signal by the sensor (9) so that the margin at the trailing edge of the roll paper may be specified length. |
