<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a data transmission rate before receiving data. SOLUTION: A data transmission rate discriminating device is provided with a detecting part 1 for detecting an A1 signal and an A2 signal from the data, a counter 2 for counting the numbers of the A1 signals and the A2 signals detected by the detecting part 1, a shift register part 3 for latching a count number at the counter 2, an inverting circuit 4 for outputting count results of the counter 2 on the basis of an output of the shift register part 3 and also resetting count results so far, a comparing part 12 for comparing the count results outputted from the counter 2 with each other, a memory 7 for storing the larger count result between the count results compared by the comparing part 12, and AND circuit 6 for generating a signal for reading the count results in the memory 7 in accordance with respective outputs of the inverting circuit 4 and the oscillator 5, a latch circuit 11 for latching an output of the AND circuit 6, and a discriminating part 8 for discriminating a data transmission speed on the basis of the count results fed from the memory 7.</p> |
