PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that attains optimum white balance adjustment of a picture even when it is a moving picture or a still picture. SOLUTION: The image pickup device includes a storage means that stores information associated with a reference white balance control value for photographing a moving picture and a reference white balance control value for photographing a still picture corresponding to the reference white balance control value for photographing the moving picture; an arithmetic means that calculates a white balance control value for photographing a still picture on the basis of the information associated with the reference white balance control value for photographing the moving picture and the reference white balance control value for photographing the still picture corresponding to the reference white balance control value for photographing the moving picture stored in the storage means; and an adjustment means that adjusts the white balance on the basis of the white balance control value for photographing the still picture calculated by the arithmetic means.
