PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an EL element in which a luminous layer having a thin and uniform thickness can be formed when manufacturing the EL element having a plurality of luminous layers, and the manufacturing processes can be simplified. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, the luminous layers constituting the EL element are formed by a printing method and the viscosity of each luminous layer-forming paint for forming the above luminous layers is 0.5 cP or more and 500 cP or less.
