摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide one-component toner in which an additive is buried and whose fluidity and electrification property are not lowered, and an image forming method realizing the prevention of the deterioration of image quality caused by void or surface staining and the lowering of image density caused by the faulty replenishment of the toner. SOLUTION: In this image forming method in which the surface of a developer supply means 13 supplying the one-component toner to a developer carrier 11 has >=1 (number/mm) recessed parts per unit length, moves in a forward direction at an abutting part between the developer carrier 11 and the member 13 and also forms the thin layer of the one-component toner on the developer carrier 11; the one-component toner to be used is toner whose volume average particle size is >=5 &mu;m and <=8 &mu;m, and whose content of impalpable powder whose volume particle size is <=5 &mu;m is <20 number %, and to which hydrophobic silica particles whose primary average particle size is 30 nm to 50 nm are added, and whose content of the particles whose diameter equivalent to a circle of number reference is 0.6 &mu;m to 3 &mu;m is <=15 number %.
