PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized fuel cell of which manufacturing is economical and easy. SOLUTION: With the miniaturized fuel cell equipped with a fuel chamber formed from a substrate made of silicon wafer or the like, a plurality of slim fuel chambers with liquid running all through are zoned in the substrate, and by extending a slim electrolyte, anode and cathode along each fuel chamber, effective surface area is maximized, whereby, current volume generated by the fuel cell is increased. The slim fuel chambers shall preferably be patterned in a mirror-image position inside the substrate, so that two thin-film substrates can be combined so as to define a fuel chamber having two slim electrolytes, anodes, and cathodes extending along them. Two or more fuel cells can be stacked up in a suitable frame, in which, a fuel and air (or oxygen) layers are defined alternately, whereby, a three-dimensional fuel cell stack providing increased current and/or voltage can be defined despite the comparatively small outer appearance. |
