PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment for facsimile communication by way of an Internet access device. SOLUTION: When a call is received from a FAX adapter 101-1 at a transmission side via a telephone line, a FAX adapter 101-2 at a reception side detects the caller number and judges whether the opposite party is about to transmit facsimile data via the Internet or not. When the party is transmitting facsimile data, an electronic mail generating part reads a global IP address to be the destination of facsimile data and a port number from a RAM and generates an E-mail including them. The generated E-mail is transmitted to the FAX adapter 101-1 by way of a dial-up router 102-2. The FAX adapter 101-1 obtains the IP address and the port number of the FAX adapter 101-2 from the E-mail and transmits a packet to the FAX adapter 101-2 by way of the dial-up router 102-2.
