PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment, with which an address managing device capable of remote-controlling address data can be easily configured at low cost. SOLUTION: As communication equipment, a facsimile is provided with an address database (DB) as one of objects in a managing information base (MIB). When a packet is received through a LAN, it is decided by the LANI/F of the communication equipment whether the packet is based on SNMP or not (S210) and further, it is judged whether an object ID in the packet represents the address DB or not (S220). When the packet contains a Get command, address data are read out of the MIB and these data are transmitted to the external address managing device (S231-S235 and S250). When the packet contains a Set command, on the other hand, address data are extracted from the packet and these data are registered in the MIB (S241 and S243).
