PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, a developing method, an image forming device, and developer which restrict deterioration of the characteristics of developer and prolong the lives of the devices by preventing developer from being fused or fixed to a developer carrier or a member that is close to or in contact with the developer carrier. SOLUTION: On the surface of a toner layer thickness restricting member 73, recesses and projections are formed so that a height difference between the top of each projection 73a and each recess 73b surrounded by the projections 73a is greater than the volume average particle diameter r (t) of the developer and so that the recesses 73b each of which has a width greater than the volume average particle diameter r (t) of the developer are continuous with each other. Herein, the projections 73a are provided scatteringly or spirally on the surface of the member. |
