摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive equalization circuit that can prevent a tap coefficient from being divergent even when receiving a reproduction signal or the like from a recording medium in which no data are recorded and to provide a reproducing device employing the adaptive equalization circuit. SOLUTION: The adaptive equalization circuit of this invention is configured such that it is provided with transversal filters(FIR) 31, 32, 33, a signal identification means that identifies signals from outputs of the FIR 31, 32, 33, a subtraction means 36 for obtaining a difference of outputs between the FIRs 31, 32, 33 and the signal discrimination means, an arithmetic circuit 34 for adaptively obtaining a tap coefficient of the FIR 31, 32, 33 from an output of the subtraction means 36, and a storage means 35 for storing an initial value of the tap coefficient of each of the FIRs 31, 32, 33, and the arithmetic circuit 34 calculates a distance between the updated tap coefficient and the initial value according to a prescribed formula and replaces the updated tap coefficient with the initial tap coefficient when the calculated distance is greater than a prescribed value.
