A support device is connected to a base plate provided with lifting devices. Wheels on the base plate are used to move and rotate the mobility aid. The wheels comprise three steerable wheels and two carriage wheels. The wheel rotation axes are parallel to each other and two steerable wheels are located on either side of a vertical plane extending parallel to these axes.
