RAPID PROTOTYPING METHOD AND DEVICE USING V−CAD DATA

V−CAD data is prepared by dividing external data (12) consisting of the interface data of an object (1) into rectangular parallelepiped cells (13) having orthogonal interface planes by octree division and classifying each divided cell into an internal cell (13a) positioned on the inner side of the object and an interface cell (13b) containing an interface surface, and the modeling unit amount of a prototyping material (7) is changed according to the sizes of an internal cell (13a) and an interface cell (13b) in a modeling unit. The prototyping material (7) is resin, timber powder, low−melting−point metal, metal powder, ceramic powder, or a mixture of them and a binder, and its molding unit amount is so set as to be less than a corresponding cell volume and is kept within a cell interface plane. Accordingly, a use of V−CAD data can simplify a program for rapid prototyping and significantly reduce a model producing time.
