<p>An image signal processing method for outputting a color image. When a YCC image creation unit (2) encodes input image data YCbCr to print image data, the luminance Y is kept as it is while chromaticity Cb, Cr is subjected to a non-linear conversion by using a non-linear function f(c), so as to create print image data YCb’Cr’. A cmyk converter (3) performs a non-linear conversion by using an inverse function f’(c) of the non-linear function f(c) to the print image data YCb’Cr’ created by the YCC image creation unit (2). A color space conversion is performed corresponding to the color space of an output device, so that the print image data YCb’Cr’ is converted to the print output image data cmyk. Thus, encoding density is controlled locally in a wide color range, thereby improving the color reproduction quality.</p> |
