The stock inlet, for a papermaking machine, has a turbulence generator with a number of channels (10) to carry the pulp suspension. The channel inner cross section expands, especially in steps, with an asymmetrical expansion against the preceding step stage (18) in relation to its center axis (16), with two eddies (24). The expanded step section (20) has its center axis offset laterally from the center axis of the preceding section.
