<p>An ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer having a novel structure and a process for producing the copolymer.The process,which is for producing an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer,comprises hydroborating 1,4−polybutadiene as a starting material in a solvent and oxidizing the hydroboration product to thereby conduct hydroxylation,and is characterized in that the hydroboration is conducted while the solution is kept in a non−gel state.</p>
