By using unstructured supplementary service data signaling, subscribers to a group call can see on a mobile telephone display panel how many subscribers are taking part in a conference. A temporary list of conference participants can be maintained via a wireless application protocol (WAP). The group can be called via a WAP application. A list of participants is also kept via a short messaging service (SMS).
