FIELD: medicine, surgery. SUBSTANCE: method includes clinico-instrumental examination of a patient to determine external abdominal radius, radius of hernial protrusion, average thickness of abdominal wall, localization of hernial entrance at anterior abdominal wall to calculate tension coefficient C by the following formula: , where R - external abdominal radius (m); A - radius of hernial protrusion (m); h - average thickness of abdominal wall (m); P - constant of intraperitoneal pressure, at localization of hernial entrance in epigastric area P value corresponds to 98 Pa; at localization of hernial entrance in mesogastric area - 245 Pa; at localization of hernial entrance in hypogastric area - 392 Pa. At C value up to 2.09 one should carry out plasty with the help of local tissues, at C value from 2.10 and higher it is necessary to perform plasty by applying latticed endoprosthesis. The innovation enables to improve results of operative treatment of ventral hernias, decrease traumaticity level of operative interference and possibility for postoperative complications.
