The measuring method has sound waves propagated between a transmitter (1) and a receiver (2) via the fluid medium and part of the body of the measuring device in which the transmitter and the receiver are incorporated, e.g. a coiled coupling element (3) between 2 fixed bodies (5,6) respectively incorporating the transmitter and the receiver. The sound waves are propagated through the fluid medium and the body of the measuring device in the same direction at different wavelengths. An Independent claim for a device for measuring acoustic parameters of a fluid medium is also included.
