CEMENT ADMIXTURE,CEMENT COMPOSITION,AND METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING CARBONATION USING THE SAME

An cement admixture comprising one or more non−hydraulic compounds selected from the group consisting of ϝ−2CaO · SiO<sb>2</sb>, &agr;−CaO · SiO<sb>2 </sb>and calcium magnesium silicate; a cement composition comprising the cement admixture; and a method for suppressing carbonation which uses the cement admixture or the cement composition. The method exerts significant effect of suppressing carbonation particularly when it is applied to a portland blast−furnace slag cement, and the cement composition results in the effective use of a slag from steelmaking, allows the reduction of the amount of a clinker to be compounded, is environmentally friendly, and is suitable as a cement complying with the EN standard which is widely used in civil engineering and building industries.
