[Also in Group XXX] Sound announcements are recorded as discrete endless tracks on a magnetic drum 4, frictionally driven by a non-reversible motor 5. Tracks relating to commercial &c. matter are sensed by selectively switched stationary heads 16.1 to 16.n, while announcements of the floor reached by the lift are sensed by a movable head 15, driven by a reversible motor 8 and leadscrew 10 actuated in concert with the lift movements. A drum contact 21 is arranged to stop the motor 5 after each complete revolution. Control is by a logical system of relays and switches (Fig. 2, not shown). |
